We were delighted to be asked to open up this Berkshire garden which had been divided in two to allow lawn and then a screened off area with 3 sheds and a play area. The family wanted a beautiful, low maintenance garden, full 22-yard cricket pitch, a productive space for fruit and vegetables, plenty of space for play and entertaining and pockets of seclusion to watch the play, open a book or just breathe in the garden.
YLG designed the garden and then the family employed Plus Gardens to undertake the landscaping work, allowing YLG to return for the planting. This was our first project working with Richard Wendland and Plush has become one of our recommended landscapers ever since. The work involved stripping the garden right back, opening up the full length of the garden. We took the old, original brick work and created beautiful brick paths around the new shed and raised vegetable bed, adding trained fruit trees in the siding and allowing a utility area behind the new shed. Planting was layered, rich, to the client's colour scheme and low maintenance.
The photos below show the before, during, plant plan detail and an example of YLG low maintenance layered margin planting - even the narrowest of plantings deserve to sing!
"We have been absolutely delighted with Tania and her team at Your Lovely Garden. Tania has taken a garden and transformed it into OUR garden. It has been very clear what care Tania took at every stage of the project - getting to know us and what we want in our garden. Tania was involved in the whole project and oversaw other contractors who did the hard landscaping. Even better - Your Lovely Garden is still involved keeping our garden looking lovely with periodic visits from Tania and her team to keep on top of the maintenance of the garden. As time poor, nervous gardeners with poor knowledge it has been amazing discovering Tania and her team. We would highly recommend Your Lovely Garden no matter the size of your project”
