"I am delighted with the garden Tania, of Your Lovely Garden, has designed and planted for me.

I am a keen but undisciplined gardener, with impulsive purchases and random planting. I take pleasure from my garden during the day, a spot for coffee in the morning, lunch with family, an afternoon read, an early evening aperitif. I also realised a few years ago, by looking at the décor of my house, I have a preferred colour palette.

The jungle I had created with the uneven trip hazard paving called out for help, as did I.

I was recommended to call Your Lovely Garden; Tania came to discuss what I wanted from the garden.

Tania produced 2 designs with computer graphics to show the garden from various vantage points within the garden, I chose one. Her recommended landscaper was skilled and efficient and the basic layout was ready. Tania then produced a planting plan to my colours, the plants arrived, then she and her ‘girls’, had a planting spree, including some of my original plants which had been carefully lifted and nurtured until ready to replant. From that point on the garden has received compliments from everyone who comes in. Each month my colour palette appears and I wait with anticipation for the next season."

“I asked Tania to help me plan the planting for 3 beds, which following on from building work, were blank canvases.

We had a meeting to discuss my ideas and aspirations for the garden, the type of planting I liked and colour schemes. One of the first things Tania did was a soil analysis so that she would have an understanding of which plants would thrive in the soil conditions and ways of improving the soil if necessary. Tania took measurements of the beds, and then produced a proposal plan, with some alternative ideas included. I went through the plan and we had a subsequent meeting at which some amendments  to the first plan were discussed. Tania then produced final plans for me to review. The plan included computer generated images, detailed description of the plants as well as the care required and a list of plants and number to be purchased. 

I particularly liked the way in which Tania breaks down the process into parts so you can use her services as little or as much as you want. In the end I used Tania for the design, purchasing the plants for me and she arranged for additional labour for a planting day as I had decided to implement the plan in one fell swoop. 

Tania also provides a follow up services with details of the quarterly plant care required which is extremely useful.

I found Tania to be very knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with. She listened to my requirements and transformed them into a wonderful planting scheme. She was prepared to make amendments to the original scheme until I was happy with the final plant choices. I am extremely pleased with the outcome and have received many comments from friends on how gorgeous the garden looks. I have no hesitation in recommending Tania and I would use her again.

“Having had dealings with a couple of local landscape gardeners, I felt that nobody had quite grasped our brief properly. The ideas were either hugely expensive and not really what we were after or basic gardening tips which lacked excitement and creativity.

Tania successfully transcends this gap. She took a great deal of time and care to understand our desires for a more formal front garden/ driveway and a more magical back garden - something stylish but taking into account that we still have young children! I really enjoyed working up mood boards on Pinterest and she carefully reflected these in the three creative concepts she provided for our back garden.

We have split the project into stages and that is never an issue with Tania. It makes sense for us both with building works and to spread the cost. Tania suggested a small curved bed in our back garden - something we had never considered and this is our favourite part. The tall purple VB attract butterflies, hence us naming this the Butterfly Bed, and we sit out there in the summer and feel like it is a little peaceful oasis.

Tania partners her creativity well with practicality so when my husband insisted on not throwing away all our old plants Tania carefully worked these into the plan. When it came to planting day our children helped with some of the planting so they proudly tell our friends and guests that they helped to make the garden the way it is. Lastly, but importantly, she is very easy to deal with and pleasant to have around!”

“My husband and I engaged Tania Taylor of Your Lovely Garden as we had renovated our house, and the garden was a mess, apart from 1 tree. It was a blank canvas. My husband and the builders completed the hard landscaping but we needed expertise in terms of plant knowledge and design. Our brief was natural, not overly structured planting, with, where possible, some colour and shape throughout the year. I was also keen to help out with the planting, so I could learn as we went along, and have more ownership of the garden going forwards. We were delighted with the process and the outcome. Tania’s design took in her extensive knowledge but added plants that we especially loved and wanted - e.g. the fig tree and eucalyptus. She integrated elements for the children, for example, each child having their own apple tree of which they picked the variety. With her care plans I feel able to look after the garden myself and it has flourished! My biggest delight has been that the colour has been present throughout the year, different plants flowering in different months, much like a firework display!

We asked Tania to come back and do a plant plan for our raised bed by our kitchen - the one area I did myself that went out of control! It now has structure, shape and aroma, with looser planting underneath.
